buried beneath a pile of pillows or ‘fort’ that our sons built around and over us our eyes peeked out to watch the game (chargers, of course!) streaming live on the internet. between getting kicked in the face by little feet climbing on us and the internet freezing we held hands and exchanged casual glances. our anniversary won’t be spent anywhere but here, with our little boys and my protruding belly. we won’t be celebrating with a fancy dinner or over night trip. we will be here… in our home, with our boys, a box of tissue (fighting off a nasty cold), and a few scoops of vanilla ice cream sprinkled with powered sugar and grated lemon peels. 6 years. truth is, there is no place else i would rather be. just here… with the people i love the most.
