hello.

welcome to my carved out space in the world. a place that is just for me. i have two precious boys, manoah and samuel. i’ve had a crush on a boy since i was 8. lucky, i married him five years ago. i love the color orange, hot tea in the morning, reality t.v, fresh flowers, and ripe mangoes. i live in san diego, ca. i always have and probably always will. after studying psychology and then graduate work in christian spiritual formation, i stumbled into photography. since then i found myself capturing life as it unfolds: couples, families, babies, & weddings.  here, in my small space in the world, i get to share their lives, love, and stories with you.  and on wednesday’s, orange wednesday, everything collides… where i struggle to balance work, art, grief, love, my messy soul, marriage, friendships, God, and my grocery list.

i’d love to meet you. so please… say, “hello.”

Sharon - We are trying to find a church I really hope you have time to read this an get back to me even though you are super busy!!! I have benn following your blog for awhile. Your words, images and faith really speak to me. We live near each other. We just moved into the area a year ago during a really difficult time in our lives. You can read about oour journey here - http://www.sharonmckeeman.com/blog/category/greif-and-healing/ Anyway I have wanted to contact you for awhile because I just want to get to know Christian women in the area, but I didn't want to seem pushy. Your post about the woman whose marriage ended so quickly really moved me and gave me hope that you might have room in your life full of friends and family to meet and get to know me. Still I was scared to contact you. Photography is a huge part of me but I dont do it professionally and have no plans to. Art is just a personal outlet for me and I miss my friends back home who I could be creative with. All that to say I read your most recent post about your home - congrats! and saw your husband is a pastor! I was hoping to find out at what church so we could come visit. We have tried a few churches but have yet to find a home. We have been through a lot and desperately need a body of beleivers to share our lives and strengthen our faith with here in our new home. Thanks so much for taking time to read this, I know your life is crazy right now so dont feel bad if you cant get in touch right away. xo Sharon McKeemanNovember 3, 2011 - 10:08 pm

Brittney - I love your blog. I am a Midwestern girl; an aspiring photographer and sometimes writer. Your style and sense of magic in your photos are an inspiration. Just say'n thanks. I'd love any advice you have for honing the craft and making creative dreams real. BrittneyFebruary 6, 2011 - 4:30 pm
